Borahm Lee Reveals He’s Working on New Music with Pretty Lights
Keyboardist, music producer, Borahm Lee reveals snippets of his upcoming solo record, and chats about potential new music from Pretty Lights.
New music looks to be coming back from Pretty Lights. Producer for Break Science, and keyboardist for Pretty Lights Live Band. Borahm Lee, reveals that he is working on upcoming projects with Pretty Lights. On the social podcast, “Oh Here We Go“, Borahm lets the listeners in on this exclusive piece of news amidst talking about his experience touring with Kanye West, dealing with racism in the music scene as well as headlining Red Rocks Festival.
Since 2018, Pretty Lights has been on an unofficial hiatus after releasing his psychedelically mesmerizing single, ‘Rainbows & Waterfalls’. During the interview, Borahm shares that he has been working hard in the studio for his upcoming solo record, which has “gone on a lot of different directions”.
The music producer and sound designer reveals that he has been on a several month long break to get his inspiration flowing and how he is stoked to “share his gift with the world” again. He started to tease snippets of music from his studio sessions on his Instagram in recent months, posting his song making processes and showing off the various elements of his studio tools and music essentials.
During the 90-minute interview, Borahm candidly touches on the topic of social media and navigating the world of public sharing. While having a social profile is such an incredible and overwhelming tool, it also “brings so much self-consciousness and is so addicting based on likes and comments. Your human dynamic range is basically dictated by it”. This podcast interview has undoubtedly given listeners a glimpse into the life of the prolific musician, who is instrumental in making genre-bending “Electro-soul” tunes and being a massive contributor to many brilliant artists around the world.
Last but not least, while Borahm casually lets in on potential new music from Pretty Lights, he was also quick to add that the work is still in progress with a “TBD” date and that anything new will drop “hopefully when Pretty Lights comes back around”. He also reassures that Break Science will stay around as he continues to collaborate with artists and tastemakers within the scene.
