Diplo Attempts to Play Pop Up Show in NYC but Gets Shut Down by Police

Diplo brings his pop up show from Bushwick Inlet Park to Brooklyn Bowl after a police order to shut down the prior venue.

Diplo knows how to bring the party to the crowd and not even the cops can stop that. On Wednesday, Diplo shared an Instagram story with the caption “See Ya Later Brooklyn” to his 5.8 million fans, announcing his pop up show that will happen in the city. Along with a tweet on the day itself, the DJ producer also displayed an invitation link with the address of Bushwick Inlet Park, Brooklyn, NY at 6.30pm. All fans were invited.

Upon arrival at the venue, Diplo saw a big crowd of about 2,000 audiences who were fervently waiting for to perform. However, the police came along and unexpectedly instructed the crew to shut down the event. Taking to Instagram again, Diplo shared a story with caption “cops came and told us to stop, now looking for a new space”. Fans took to social media to voice their confusion as they began scrambling for new information, eagerly waiting for Diplo and his crew to announce a new location.

Shortly after, Diplo took to Instagram once again to announce his “emergency after party venue”. He brought the crowd over to the Brooklyn Bowl, which started the highly energetic night. Fans were seen raving to his live performance set all throughout. However, due to the limited capacity of the venue, some fans who did not manage to enter the after party were also seen trying to storm the doors to catch the DJ in action.

In all, it was a night of massive spontaneity and pure jubilation for fans who were in luck to catch Diplo’s performance after what seemed like a mayhem of changes. His social media began to flood with fan’s comment and feedback about the day’s activities and what most of them had to go through with the impromptu switch in venue.

Despite the prior hiccup, you can always count on Diplo to hype the crowd and the fans never lie with their profusion of energy . Their enthusiasm and excitement to pull up at his shows, regardless of its location, is a testament to their unwavering support for the top DJ producer.
