Blunts & Blondes Recruits his Bass Bosses Zeds Dead for Final Album Single “Think of You”
The genre-blending producer brings in a legendary bass duo for one last single.
Getting his rise from the Tampa, Florida bass scene, DJ/Producer Blunts & Blondes presents his final single before the release of his debut album, ‘Story of a Stoner.’ The track, “Think of You” is in collaboration with Deadbeats label founders, Zeds Dead.
Blunts & Blondes is known for his ability to seamlessly blend genres like hip-hop and dubstep, but on his newest track, the versatile producer takes it back to his roots. Acting as a nod to the sound that helped popularize dubstep in the past decade, “Think of You” is a melodic powerhouse that oozes emotion.
Utilizing emotive vocals and wobbly long chords, the track clearly shows the blend of Blunts & Blondes and Zeds Dead styles. “Think of You” sounds like it was built to be a favorite at festivals— tapping into the sound that’s been beloved by many for ages.
While Blunts & Blondes, real name Mike Guard, is best known for his skills as an amazing bass music producer, he is hoping to use his new album to express himself in new ways. “I always have had a love for hip-hop and rap music. It’s what I listen to everyday. I also wanted to express myself a lot through the album and I think it was more effective to use lyrics. I think hip-hop has had an overwhelming influence on bass music and my own life. I thought it was the perfect harmony between genres.”
Blunts & Blondes’ debut album, ‘Life of a Stoner’ is set to release on April 20th, aptly. Be sure to give his new single with Zeds Dead, “Think of You” a listen at the link below.
