Over time ravers have created a blacklist of artists who have inevitably done something terrible to the community. This list includes Bassnectar as EDM public enemy #1, but a very close second is canceled dubstep producer Datsik.

Datsik’s career was at the height of the dubstep era in 2018 when multiple sexual assault allegations against him came to light. Almost overnight Datsik was cancelled, removed from all music lineups, and dropped from his management company.

In a series of tweets Luca Lush explained that even though he and his girlfriend had an open relationship, this was one line that wasn’t to be crossed. He also goes on to call out Datsik and leave a nice message for him.

Fast forward, Luca Lush took to Twitter again to apologize for airing out his feelings online due to his mental health. It might seem comedic to some, but it is important to remember this is a person going through something hurtful.

Since this incident, Luca Lush has been keeping himself busy releasing new music, joining Griz for a pop-up beach set, and going to therapy. He touches on the importance of taking care of your mental health and even though this traumatic event happened, he’s found a way to turn channel some of this energy into making new music.

What’s a better way to be inspired than to sprinkle in a little trauma? To Luca Lush, we say, upward and onward.
