Space Jesus Has “Resolved Matters” With Alleged Sexual Assault Victim

Space Jesus shares an update to fans regarding his ongoing legal battle with Caeli La (Michaela Higgins).

Once a prominent figure in the electronic music community, Jasha Tull a.k.a. Space Jesus, faced a series of sexual assault allegations that put his career at a standstill nearly two years ago. Among those accusations were also claims that the artist had provided illicit drugs to minors. The origins of the allegations stemmed from an anonymous Instagram account @evidenceagainstspacejesus.

The account shared what was presumed to be evidence of these nefarious accusations, including screenshots, photos, etc. Shortly after the allegations came to fruition, it was revealed that a woman named Caeli La, who was previously in a relationship with Space Jesus, was behind the Instagram account.

Around the same time, another account @evidenceagainstsnails was making similar accusations against the dubstep DJ and producer Snails. The artist recently revealed that he had filed a lawsuit against Caeli La for defamation, as the Instagram account and subsequent allegations have caused substantial stress on his career.

Late last year, Space Jesus announced his return to the music scene with an elusive show in Hawaii. Earlier last year, Space Jesus make a public statement that he would be filing a lawsuit against Caeli La for defamation. However, nearly a year later, the claims were dismissed.

Space Jesus recently shared a post to Instagram informing fans that the friction between himself and Caeli La has been resolved internally. He begins, “It has become apparent that Michaela Higgins (Caeli La) and I have different recollections regarding the nature of some of our sexual encounters during our relationship. I have resolved matters with her, as has my family.”

He goes on to vaguely reflect on his perception of women in the music industry, closing the statement with, “consent should never be assumed, and trauma cannot be minimized.” Space Jesus has since removed the statement from his Instagram account. A copy of the statement can be viewed below.

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!
