Dillon Francis Attends Grammy Awards in T-Shirt and Jeans While Carrying a Plastic Bag
Donning a notoriously casual T-Shirt, Dillon Francis walked the Grammy red carpet with a bag of snacks in a plastic bag from Walgreen after receiving an invite from Diplo
What would a Grammy Awards show be without having the spotlight on some of the quirkiest things that artists do? During the 64th Grammy Awards show in Las Vegas this weekend, Dillon Francis kept it casual by wearing a blue T-Shirt and jeans to the prestigious event. Paired with a slip-on checkered Vans sneakers, he also brought on an “accessory” of a Walgreen plastic bag filled with Entenmann’s Little Bites muffins.
The DJ and producer, who has a residency at the Wynn Las Vegas, took to Twitter to share that his fellow dance producer and friend, Diplo, was the one who handed him an invite ticket after they bumped into each other at the hotel lobby. He explained that he took a trip to Walgreen to purchase a shaver and some snacks to hand out to fans at his Vegas show, not expecting to run into Diplo, who took him along to the Grammys show at the very last minute.
Sharing the humorous story on Twitter, Dillon Francis also posed on the red carpet with Diplo, who turned up with a glamorized outfit – a black turtleneck suit and freshly-dyed blue hair. The latter also shared a teasing post on Instagram at the end of the night where he ‘lost the Grammy but won in friendship”, with the caption “taking my son to the Grammys”.
Just on Thursday, Dillon also shared his new wall art on social media – a framed picture of his Grammy bag and Walgreen receipt on his living room. What a way to remember the unforgettable night!
The Grammys Award 2022 on Sunday was a spectacular show. In the dance and electronic categories, South African producer, Black Coffee, made history with his first ever Grammy award for his 2021 LP, Subconsciously in the Best Dance/ Electronic Album category. He edged out other top producers like Illenium, Major Lazer, Marshmello, Sylvan Esso and Ten City to bag the top notched accolade.
RUFUS DU SOL also won the Best Dance / Electronic Recording for the song “Alive”, which is the lead single off their fourth studio album ‘Surrender’. This is also their first win after the Australian trio’s third nomination at the Grammys.
All in all, it was certainly a memorable night for all the nominees, attendees and winners. Dillon Francis certainly took home most the award for the most casual outfit of the evening, along with being the most heartwarming producer as he made sure to save the Little Muffin bites for the crowd at his Vegas show after that.
