Hardwell Announces New Album and Global Tour Following Surprise Appearance at Ultra Music Festival

This past weekend, dance music pioneer and former 2x World No. 1 DJ Hardwell made a historic performance coupled with a ‘Rebels Never Die’ album and tour announcement.

Up until this past weekend in Miami, it had been nearly four years since Hardwell made his final performance before taking a hiatus from touring. In the weeks leading up to Ultra Music Festival, rumors of Hardwell’s performance as the surprise guest began circulating.

After the artist unexpectedly disappeared in 2018 after a show at the Metropole Orkest Symphony at the Ziggo Dome, fans have been doubtful they might witness Hardwell perform live again. The Dutch artist had spent the decade prior headlining major festivals and events across the world. It’s no surprise that he chose to make his epic return to the hottest festival in North America, Ultra Miami.

Just when dance music fans thought his surprise headlining Ultra performance was the biggest news of the year, Hardwell shared plans to release an album and tour entitled, ‘Rebels Never Die’.

The DJ’s Sunday evening performance was, as expected, a departure from his traditional progressive house style. Hardwell took the opportunity to showcase a new era in his career, putting a mainstage spin on techno. It’s fair to assume Hardwell’s forthcoming album will feature such influences.

Hardwell’s surprise set was one of many performances to come, as a world tour is currently in the works. The brand new ‘Rebels Never Die’ world tour is a large-scale production concept that will offer fans an innovative multi-dimensional experience to witness Hardwell perform live back on stage. He will be touching down in various cities across North and South America, Europe, and Asia and some of the most coveted venues.

Tickets for ‘Rebels Never Die’ are currently on sale on Hardwell’s website and are expected to sell out. Stay tuned for album updates.

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!
