Watch MEMBA Feed People Whole Onions On Tour

Just when we thought we had seen it all, NY-based DJ duo MEMBA shares footage to Instagram of themselves feeding entire onions to bystanders along their INEVITABLE tour.

Ishaan Chaudhary and Will Curry, together known as MEMBA, couldn’t finish up their headlining tour without a bang, or an onion…or many onions. Upon closing out a lengthy and successful tour, the duo compiled a series of videos, in which they offer up whole onions to fans.

From observing the video montage, it appears that entire onions were being given out to fans at the merch booths along their INEVITABLE tour. One fan is pictured saying, “MEMBA, I did this sh*t for you. It hurts so bad and I’m paying regular price for your merch because it’s so f*cking cool.” It looks like the true test of fandom is eating a raw onion at your favorite DJ’s show.

To some, the onions may sound appalling, but MEMBA is building a culture among their fanbase in the best way they know how. Entertainment comes in many forms, and this duo certainly knows how to keep people engaged.

Speaking of engaged, MEMBA recently made headlines after Ishaan tied the knot with Brooklyn-based musician/vocalist, Evan Giia, after years five years together. Ishaan’s Indian culture played a heavy influence in the couple’s wedding ceremony. The fusion of cultures allowed Evan to experience what it was like to be an Indian bride, something she described as “nothing short of amazing.”

Evan Giia and Ishaan of MEMBA even have a collaboration together, titled, “In Motion.” While MEMBA is busy feeding people onions on tour, Evan Giia is preparing to embark on Alsion Wonderland’s The Loner Tour, where she’s slated to perform on several stops. MEMBA have closed out their tour, but are preparing for a stacked festival season, starting with Ubbi Dubbi at the end of April.

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!

What's your reaction?
