Inside Deadmau5’s Ex-Wife Kelly Zimmerman’s New Single Life in Florida

Kelly “Grill” Zimmerman, the ex-wife of legendary DJ deadmau5, embraces her new life in Florida following the divorce.

Kelly Zimmerman and deadmau5 first got together in 2014 followed by a romantic proposal three years later in the Maldives. Fans were heartbroken to learn that after nearly four years of marriage, deadmau5 and Kelly were getting a divorce. The news broke midway through 2021, and Kelly spent the remaider of the year working on herself, reminding everyone of the boss-bitch she is.

Not long after the split, it became apparent that Kelly was focused on healing and self-care. The IG captions started looking like “healing girl summer” and “my main goal right now is falling back in love with myself.” She spent the remainder of the year living her best life, working, eating good food, and enjoying great company.

After living in Toronto, where her a deadmau5 are both from, Kelly took a charge and moved to sunny Florida to begin her new life. Not only is she taking on a new home, but she’s moved to an entirely new country–now that’s queen energy right there.

Now, Kelly is killing the game (as always) in Florida. Not only is she showing off her rocking body, she’s taken on a new business venture–the ever-flourishing Florida real estate market, while also using the best software like paystub to manage employees, discover it here. “Barefoot morning tea in the sun before heading to work. With the real estate market on fire I couldn’t help but jump into the Florida market,” said Kelly in a recent Instagram post.

Although, Kelly and deadmau5 divorce was “amicable”, according to an identical social media post the two made to share the news with fans, it’s hard to imagine it being easy. Post-divorce, Kelly was spotted with deadmau5 at North Coast festival. She was also pictured wearing her wedding band on several occasions.

It seems like these two were able to remain civil, at the very least, and Kelly Zimmerman has had the opportunity to carve out her own path in life. We wish them both well and look forward to watching Kelly grow in her new life in which she’s “made for sunny days.”

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!

What's your reaction?
