RÜFÜS DU SOL’s Sundream Festival Tulum was a Utopia for Fans

RÜFÜS DU SOL took over Papaya Playa Project in Tulum for their inaugural Sundream Festival last weekend.

After years of acquiring a one-of-a-kind fandom, RÜFÜS DU SOL decided it was time to curate an event specifically for their dedicated followers, and boy did they exceed all expectations. The weekend began on Thursday, March 10th and continued through Sunday, March 20 as music lovers from across the globe congregated in the beautiful and eco-friendly Tulum.

RÜFÜS DU SOL’s Sundream took place at Papaya Playa Project, a stunning beach hotel, club, and resort with views of the Caribbean. Upon entry, fans could find exclusive shops and delicious foods from local restaurants. There were interactive displays and decked out dancers who welcomed guests to their immersive getaway. Attendees were able to load money onto wristbands where they could purchase drinks and food at one of the many bars on both the ground level and down at the beach.

A large staircase carried fans down into the sand, where Sundream hosted their massive stage. The platform resembled a mystical sun looking over the crowd with large panels projecting into the sky. Lights, lasers, and colorful decor created a warm jungle atmosphere, and the sound system was a perfect fit for the oceanfront view. To the right of the stage the waves roared and splashed, reflecting vibrant lights that created the most remarkable emulsion of elements.

On Thursday night, notable sets came from Bob Moses, who played a jungle club performance, and of course, the hosts RÜFÜS DU SOL. The boys took the stage to play a two-hour live set, belting all of their classics to an ecstatic crowd.

On Friday, Cassian illuminated the stage with his powerful melodic house, and Monolink closed out the evening with a flawless compilation of his live singles and techno remixes of his most prominent tracks.

On Saturday, Adam Port kicked off the evening with his infectious house beats leading into RÜFÜS who rejoined the stage for a two-hour DJ set. Magdalena amped up the crowd with a phenomenal techno performance before RÜFÜS returned for a once-in-a-lifetime sunrise performance.
