Shadient Opens Up About Health Issues And Battle With Depression
RISING EXPERIMENTAL ARTIST OPENS UP ABOUT HIS MENTAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH
Shadient, the London-based artist and producer, has recently taken to Twitter to talk to fans about the truth surrounding his mental and physical health.
In a Twitter thread posted on March 2nd, Shadient says, “I’ve been battling health anxiety so severely the last year or so. the stress has manifested itself into me having more seizures, some form of sleep apnia and almost falling into an alcohol addiction —”
“it’s so strange, I don’t fear any of my actual health problems, but I fear death so prominently. I’m sorry to spew this on your feeds, just wondering if it’ll help me to publicly ponder – why am I so convinced that at any given moment I’m going to have a heart attack and drop dead?”
Following the thread, he posted another Tweet saying, “I have awful eating habits, I smoke profusely, I drink far too much far too often, and yet im sat here wondering why I have a significantly high blood pressure. Imagine anxiety makes me fear life’s fragility, and depression counters it by making me not care at all.”
The artist finished off this series of testimonies with this, “need to clarify my mental health has 0 impact on my ability to make music. If anything, its the only way I get away from all the noise.”
This level of openness is something fans appreciate in 2022. Out are the days were artists were put on a pedestal of perfection, unable to express their flaws and feelings without fans insisting they had nothing to complain about.
Now, fans, and the public in general, crave the sort of connection with artists that foster personal growth, accountability, and vulnerability. This series of Tweets have shown supporters just how much they may have in common with Shadient – and just how strong and vulnerable he is.
It also shows both listeners and Shadient that they are not alone. That they are not the only ones facing these battles and that they can make it through this as well.
Fans have supported Shadient’s vulnerability, Tweeting, “Take it one day at a time. Integrate small changes into your life at your pace. Or don’t. The choice is yours! But remember, you are worth being patient to yourself. Especially when it comes to adjusting habitual behavior.” To fight against your inner demons, products like CBD Oil might be of great help.
Tweets like that, which Shadient has liked, urge him to do what’s best for him when it’s best for him—enforcing the notion that he and his fans are in this together.
As anxiety, depression, and the physical health effects caused by these diseases become more openly discussed, we can only hope that no one will have to battle these feelings alone.
Take these Tweets as a reminder to take care of yourself, ask for help when you need it, practice self-care and self-love, and support those who need it most.
