MYRNE Debuts on Astralwerks with Emotional Single “What Can I Do?” Ahead of Upcoming 2022 EP

MYRNE’s latest single “What Can I Do?” hits listeners right in the feels. 

Singapore dance artist MYRNE made his debut Astralwerks release with the inspirational and emotional track “What Can I Do?” Demonstrating his studio prowess, this track fused together elements of electro-pop, dance, and house music – thus creating something that sounded very raw and full of heart.

MYRNE stated, “Most of my inspiration comes form everyday life. Nestled in these songs are sounds that keep the world and myself moving.” He went on to say, “I know it’s been a while, but I couldn’t be more grateful to be back. I was really scared of making music for a long time, out of fear of mediocrity and never surpassing my past work. But since then I’ve erased everything I know, and I’ve fallen in love with the process again – just singing and dancing to 8 bar loops for days. ‘What Can I Do?’ was the first song I wrote out of that.”

“What Can I Do?” began with a very light-sounding beat, that transforms into something beautiful and danceable as the song played through its four-minute and 16-second runtime.

The lyrics, “So what can I do? If I can’t be here, without you. I’d rather be dead, than ahead in this world without you” allowed the listener to be put into MYRNE’s shoes as he navigates through uncertainty. His fear of mediocrity or living up to himself was represented through the lyrics, “And I think, I might have fallen down. But I can’t get myself back up again.”
