LP GIOBBI Breathes New Life into Chris Lorenzo’s “California Dreamin” with Driving Remix
LP GIOBBI Drops Her Remix of Chris Lorenzo and High Jinx’s “California Dreamin’,” Adding a New Dynamic to the Popular House Song
In October of 2021, Chris Lorenzo paid homage to The Mamas and The Papas by dropping his version of the 1965 hit, “California Dreamin’” featuring High Jinx. The 1960s ballad remake is considered a success among listeners, further propelling Lorenzo’s popularity among house fans. It was only a matter of time before the 2021 fan-favorite, LP GIOBBI, got her hands on the track to create her own rendition of the popular single.
LP GIOBBI‘s new remix takes Lorenzo’s deep-house cut version, with the voices from The Mamas and The Papas original acapella, to create a familiar, yet totally different sound. The LP GIOBBI Remix includes a combination of Vintage Culture‘s November 2021 remix, with an added piano chord progression and bassline. The layered voices add another element to the track, giving LP GIOBBI another hit for her discography.
While the original house mix of the song has been popular among festivals and in clubs since its October release, LP GIOBBI’s version has garnered much attention, receiving favorable responses among fans. When asked about LP GIOBBI’s thoughts on the new track, she stated, “It was fun to work on a track with vocals that evoke summertime nostalgia and then juxtapose that with harder-hitting production.”
