Gammer Returns to Instagram After Denying Sexual Assault Allegations

In a hopeful return to festival stages, Gammer looks to jump back into the scene.

In a recent Instagram post, English producer and DJ, Gammer, announced that he is going to be releasing new music and “is excited to play more shows this year.” The post was the first to hit his feed in two months, after having been accused of sexual assault by EDM photographer Grim late last year. Himself, Trampa, and 12th Planet all had periods of silence following allegations that were made against each of them by the same person.

Matthew Lee, who’s more known by his stage name, Gammer, was brought into the light recently after the photographer came forward with a statement about the DJ. It accused Lee of sexual assult, which has recieved a mix of support for the photographer and defense of Lee.

After the allegations were posted, Gammer took some time before responding to the claims. It was then that he addressed the allegations in a tweet, stating, “our lips touched accidentally.” He went on to say, “Though there was no ill intent behind my actions, I quickly apologised for making them feel uncomfortable.” The DJ subsequently addressed his month of silence, stating “I needed to take a step back and process what I was feeling.”

While many are split on the situation and are unsure on the morality of supporting Gammer, there are plenty of others who see his statement as a fair explanation for the situation. This has allowed the artist to take a step back, regroup, and announce that he has upcoming releases and is ready to get back to performing.

Since then, Gammer has made an appearance on the infinitely large, Tomorrowland lineup. The Belgium festival has been the first of the year to announce Gammer’s expected performance.
