Illenium Raves Over The Chainsmokers’ New Music in Passionate Tweet

The Chainsmokers are dropping new music, and Illenium is here for it.

The Chainsmokers have resurfaced, and the internet has exploded, buzzing with the unbridled energy of fandom and fangirling, even from fellow artist Illenium. After a multi-year hiatus, heartthrobs Alex Pall and Drew Taggart have reentered the spotlight, performing live, and producing music. Supposedly, this powerhouse of a DJ duo has been fast at work in the studio, creating new music, or better yet, a full-length LP.

Although very few details have been shared with fans regarding content, crowd favorite and unproblematic DJ dad Illenium hopped on the mic to share his praise. Illenium lauded his DJ besties with kind words and free press, expressing to his following an intense support of The Chainsmokers resurgence.

Although Illenium usually sticks to fiery ballads and metallic bass, fans popped off on the thread about the possibilities of this album. Some fans even speculated about a potential collab between Illenium and The Chainsmokers.

Although the idea might sound farfetched and wishful, perhaps even opportunistic, is it really? Their previous collaboration “Takeaway,” has been streamed via YouTube more than 130 million times and more than 490 million times on Spotify. The returns were astronomical, and the numbers have spoken for themselves – the boys have a chemistry that translates into some quality art.

Yet regardless of whether Illenium is, in fact, featured on that album, he’s been doing just fine. Him and his girlfriend of a decade are (still) deeply in love and co-parenting their precious puppy Peanut. Illenium regularly releases new music and has an enviable tour lineup in store for 2022, which includes headlining at festivals such as Ultra and beyond.

Heralding from sunny South Florida, I am a proud Florida Woman. In my free time, I surf the swamp, wrangle gators, open fan mail, and tend to my pets. In the wild, I'm most often spotted at immersive art spaces, step tappin' in a shadowed corner of the club, hater blockerz on, totally incognito as your resident EDM spice girl. Although I generally tout my spicy side, if there's one thing I'd love to impress upon the world, it would be this: it's not a waste to give love to those who do not deserve it – it's a gift. The world would be a better place if we gave, in kindness and in mercy, to those who need it most with no expectation in return.
