ODESZA Shares Cryptic Audio File Amid Retirement Rumors – [Listen]

ODESZA is staying tight-lipped despite retirement speculation as they tease their upcoming track, “Is There Ever Really A Last Goodbye”.

ODESZA’s loyal fans have been waiting on the edge of their seat for new music promised in 2022. However, with new music comes a caveat. ODESZA released a cryptic campaign called “Welcome to The Last Goodbye.”

This campaign was quietly executed on a microsite that invites visitors to subscribe with their phone number or email. By entering your number, an automated text message is sent to your phone adding ODESZA as a contact. This type of subscriber communication is often used by other artists to notify fans directly about upcoming music, merch, and events.

Though with no confirmation yet that this will be ODESZA’s retirement, fans are close to losing their minds trying to decipher its meaning.

Today, ODESZA tweeted “password: tgl” that gave fans access to a short preview of their upcoming song “Is There Ever Really A Last Goodbye”. Click here to give it a listen. Password: tlg.

Even though it’s less than a minute long, the teaser is nothing short of ethereal. The soft intro floods memories of the music we know and love from Harrison and Clayton.

Though these cryptic messages are torturous, it is too early to assume the worst. Theoretically, it could be gearing up for a final tour or (hopefully) be a ploy to garner attention for their next album. We’ll have to stay tuned to see.
