Rezz Reveals Plan to Collaborate with The Weeknd
Fans freaked out over recent Rezz’s tweet implying a future collaboration with The Weeknd.
The Weeknd is a Canadian singer/songwriter, garnering fame for his albums “Beauty Behind the Madness”, “Starboy” and “After Hours.”
He just released his fifth studio album “Star FM” on January 7th with XO and Republic Records.
The Weeknd has been on a kick of collaborations lately, including hits with Daft Punk, Lana Del Rey, Swedish House Mafia, and Tyler, the Creator. After already linking with iconic electronic artists, a Rezz x The Weeknd song would be a logical next step for the R&B singer.
Remixes of his tracks are frequently played at festivals, and the drum and bass version of Blinding Lights took the Party Favor crowd by storm.
Rezz is one of the, if not the biggest female DJ in the world right now. Coming from another planet, her entrancing heavy bass lines woo crowds. Her mesmerizing tracks has led her to have a cult-like following. Fans have dubbed her “Space Mom” and wear glasses similar to her own at her shows.
A Tiktok trend has resurfaced her track “Edge“, almost 6 years after its original release. This is pushing Rezz further into the mainstream than ever. Her latest album, “Spiral” features collaborations from other amazing artists such as Deathpact, Dove Cameron, PEEKABOO, EDDIE, and Fortress of Graves. Unlike her previous album, most songs on this one feature vocals. The songs are hard yet hypnotizing, and the production overall speaks to her leveling-up as an artist.
Although completely different genres, both Rezz and The Weeknd incorporate brooding sounds and heavy basslines into their tracks.
The two would create an absolutely show-stopping single, and fans around the world hope it comes to fruition- keep your eyes peeled on their socials for future announcements.
