Hermitude Makes Triumphant Return with New Single and Album Announcement – [Listen]
Hermitude ignites their exciting comeback with the release of “Promises.”
After taking some time retreat to the Blue Mountains of Australia, the electronic duo, Hermitude, is back to announce the release of their upcoming album, ‘Mirror Mountain.’ The 8-track project will be coming to fans everywhere on May 6th, 2022.
Set to reflect the unprecedented times that everyone faced during the pandemic, the album takes a much more stripped back approach to its development. Hermitude – the duo of Luke Dubber (Dubs) and Angus Stuart (“El Gusto”) – were able to get back to their home country before borders closed in 2020 due to the pandemic. During so, they decided to take this opportunity to head into the Blue Mountains with nothing but a Moog Matriarch, one other synth, and a laptop.
“We hadn’t written up here for ten years. It’s where we started, and we grew up here, and it’s where we had our first bands. It was returning home, but we wanted to go in a new direction, so it felt fresh, not like going backward. It was returning to our roots but also with this new feeling to it all.”
In an effort to give a taste of what the upcoming album may sound like, Dubber and Stuart have released the first single, “Promises.” The track gets support from Andie, who offers intensifying vocals to an already upbeat instrumental.
“Promises” offers an energetic, fast-paced feel that’s refreshing, while maintaining that distinct Hermitude sounds. Be sure to give the new track a listen below and check out the accompanying music video.
