Black Tiger Sex Machine Drop ‘Cyberworld’ Album 10 Years After Starting Project
Canadian dubstep group Black Tiger Sex Machine releases an intense, soul rattling bass album.
Black Tiger Sex Machine, comprised of Patrick Barry, Marc-André Chagnon, and Julien Maranda, is known for their orchestral and epic dubstep and mind-melting depravity. The trio, which bases their production out of Montreal, Quebec, has performed at some of the most renowned festivals and venues in the industry, including Lollapalooza, TomorrowWorld, Electric Daisy Carnival, Electric Forest, Evolve, Lost Lands, Paradiso, Decadence, and so much more.
With their impressive track record in mind, it should come as no surprise that BTSM started 2022 strong, exploding onto the EDM scene with their new album “Once Upon A Time In Cyberworld.” The 12-track LP is the third full-length album release and a feat of production and musicality. The album features artists such as ATLiens, YOOKIE, Wasiu, Dread MC, and more.
When speaking on the album, BTSM shared insight into the creative process. “Our post-apocalyptic universe is a bleak place where the world is crumbling,” mused BTSM. “In some ways the hardships mirror what we’ve all gone through in the past couple years in real life. With this album we wanted to write from that perspective of coming in and out of hard times while still having some fight and hope left in us.”
Black Tiger Sex Machine narrated their creative process further, explaining what they focused on during production: “It was important to us that we worked with a lot of vocalists on the album, more than ever before, as we wanted to tell these stories from unique viewpoints and be more explicit about the world-building with thoughts and emotions that didn’t just stem from our production. It was a blast working with everyone and being able to bring them into our world and add depth as characters made this a special project.”
