Paul Oakenfold Delivers New Album ‘Shine On’ Featuring Collabs from Zhu, Benny Benassi, and More
The legendary producer delivers an eclectic new album with the help of some of the biggest names in music.
Paul Oakenfold has returned with the release of his new studio album, ‘Shine On.’ The album was teased when he released two singles last year: “I’m In Love” featuring Grammy-nominated singer Aloe Blacc and “I’m Into It,” a track in collaboration with Velvet Cash and the illustrious ZHU.
The album takes many forms, honing in on his traditional trance style on tracks like “Shine On,” while also exploring more contemporary sounds on “Anywhere But Here” and “Moment.” Oakenfold even leans into orchestral compositions on tracks like “White Lights” and “Waterfall.” A highlight for many is the closing track, a drum and bass thriller featuring infamous singer, CeeLo Green.
Oakenfold has been a foundational pillar in the development of electronic music throughout the UK and United States. From managing and promoting British legends to performing at some of the first major electronic festivals in the States, Oakenfold has touched nearly everything that we love today. Even when he decided to take a step out of the spotlight, he continued to produce for artists like Madonna, Cher, and U2.
“I feel incredibly lucky to be in a position where I’m able to work with this caliber of vocalists and producers… from legends like Benny Benassi to Eve to Cee Lo Green and Aloe Blacc. Shine On has been a labor of love for me over the past two years, and a new album is just as exciting for me now, three decades plus into my career, as it was for me at the start.” – Paul Oakenfold
