The Chainsmokers Return After a Near Three Year Hiatus – [Watch]

One of the most celebrated DJ groups of all time returns.

The Chainsmokers comprised of Alexander “Alex” Pall and Andrew “Drew” Taggart, are releasing new music – finally! After a nearly three-year long mysterious sabbatical, the boys are back in the spotlight promoting their new album titled “TCS4.” For the past three years, fans have hungrily awaited the release of their new music, patiently allowing The Chainsmokers privacy during their pregnant pause.

In their original hiatus announcement to the public, The Chainsmokers commented the following:

“Hey everybody. We are going to be taking some time to create our next chapter in music. We have never been more inspired and are already hard at work on TCS4 but we are going to be taking a break from social media (minus a few obligations) to give it the attention it needs. We hope you miss us, we will miss you! We’ll be around (in real life) if you know where to find us. Don’t be shy and say hello if you see us. If not, we will [be] back soon (ish), but other than that next time you see our faces on here, will be when TCS4 is ready… time for album mode.”

Although the duo mainly kept out of the spotlight for these past years, they recently booked a charity show in the Hamptons, benefitting the philanthropic organizations No Kid Hungry, Southampton Fresh Air Home, and the Children’s Medical Fund of New York. And although their comeback was highly anticipated, the hype was short-lived. The show is now reportedly under investigation for violating CDC guidelines regarding social distancing – video evidence shows a massive crowd of patrons soft moshing to the opening act, Goldman Sachs’ resident DJ and CEO David Solomon.

Unfortunately for fans, it appears as though we’re all going to have to wait until the album drops to witness a resurfacing of the duo. Watch the video below, their enigmatic comeback announcement, to learn more.

Heralding from sunny South Florida, I am a proud Florida Woman. In my free time, I surf the swamp, wrangle gators, open fan mail, and tend to my pets. In the wild, I'm most often spotted at immersive art spaces, step tappin' in a shadowed corner of the club, hater blockerz on, totally incognito as your resident EDM spice girl. Although I generally tout my spicy side, if there's one thing I'd love to impress upon the world, it would be this: it's not a waste to give love to those who do not deserve it – it's a gift. The world would be a better place if we gave, in kindness and in mercy, to those who need it most with no expectation in return.
