Gammer Responds to Sexual Assault Allegations – [Read]
After more than a month of silence, Gammer addresses the sexual assault allegations made against him by EDM photographer Grim.
In early December, Grim shared a slew of allegations against several artists in the dubstep and bass music community. The photographer accused Trampa of rape and 12th Planet and Gammer of sexual assault, all on separate occasions.
Grim told each story in detail but received backlash from people who seemingly downplayed her experience with Gammer as “just a failed kiss.” In response to that feedback, she shared another post last week titled “tw/ sexual assault while being a photographer in the music industry pt.3 and hopefully the last…” followed by “pt. 3 continued.”
This time, the account was focused on the English producer and DJ, Gammer, who she’s worked for in the past. She details her account with Gammer at Hard Summer, sticking by her sexual assault allegations and even claiming she was never paid for the gig.
The following day, Gammer shared a post to Twitter that addressed Grim’s post and thanked his supporters for allowing him some time to address the allegations. In what sounds like an effort to explain the month-or-so gap, he goes on, “I needed to take a step back and process what I was feeling.”
The replies to Gammer’s tweet are riddled with both support and backlash. One user says, “Don’t let the court of public twitter opinion get you down! This place is a toxic cesspool. We love and support you until real evidence (other than a tweet) comes forward.” To that, another responded, “Genuinely, what evidence do you want? A screenshot from Gammer saying ‘sorry I sexually harassed you?’” Although the community finally heard from Gammer, as of today, neither 12th Planet nor Trampa has publicly responded to the allegations made against them.
