Zeds Dead & Subtronics Revive Dubstep with Massive Track “Gassed Up” Featuring Flowdan -[Listen]

The Kings of bass are back with an insane new collaboration “Gassed Up” featuring vocals from Flowdan.

This new year started out with a bang with Zeds Dead & Subtronics’ release “Gassed Up (feat. Flowdan).” Coming from the vintage dubstep sound that made Zeds Dead exemplary during the late 00s, paired with Subtronics’ brandish abilities, and Flowdan’s lyrical rap-style, “Gassed Up” sent listeners for a wild ride.

In 2019, Subtronics collaborated with Zeds Dead for the first time on the track “Bumpy Teeth,” and due to the success of the song, came together again in 2020 to remix the track “GodLovesUgly” by Atmosphere. Hooks and DC of Zed’s Dead commented on their work with Subtronics and stated, “This is our 3rd time collaborating with the homie Subtronics and each time has been such an awesome experience. Been road testing this one since the Summer and it took a bit to dial in the vocal but when we connected with the legendary Flowdan we knew we had it!”

With his debut album FRACTALS set to release on January 14th, Subtronics was hyped with the release of “Gassed Up” from the forthcoming album. He said, “‘Gassed Up’ with Zeds Dead and Flowdan is one of my favorite songs on the album. I am a massive, massive fan of Flowdan and beyond honored to have him on the track.” He went on to say, “The UK inspired grime sections leading into emotionally impactful walls of sound just, ugh, I love this tune and stand by it with my entire soul.”

Lyrics to the song such as, “One plan, one mission. Keep it mixing with the madness, with no fucks given. Blazing, without the license. Crazy, without the silence. Wavy, without the pirates. Gassed when I light it” exhibited Flowdan’s unique rap style, while also highlighted the track’s overall theme; moving fast and being carefree.

Which is exactly how Zeds Dead and Subtronics plan on spending the new year. With a massive 50+ headline dates planned for Subtronics’ FRACTALS tour, and Zeds Dead closing out last year by performing with GRiZ at Zero Gravity on New Years Eve, these artists continue to stay “Gassed up.”
