Tomorrowland to Expand to Three Weekends for 2022 Edition – [Read]
The acclaimed Belgium-based festival, Tomorrowland, officially confirmed a third weekend, following a local environmental permit approval.
Up until now, Tomorrowland served as an annual, two-weekend festival experience. The dazzling spectacle nestled within the province of Antwerp attracted national and international attention. Since 2005, it’s become a staple of electronic music festivals and Belgium.
Given the unforeseeable nature of the pandemic, Tomorrowland’s organizers were forced to cancel multiple festivals on short notice during the past two years. To lessen the detrimental cancellations and meet fan demand, Tomorrowland 2022 will move forward with three weekends.
The past four editions of Tomorrowland have taken place digitally, and organizers are making sure to pull all the stops this time around. Festival stages are set to remain unchanged, while the lineup will change weekly depending on artists’ availability.
Tomorrowland is slated for a July 15th weekend start, closely followed by more sets during the weekends of the July 22nd and 29th. While there are no artist names revealed at the moment, past lineups are a good indicator that 2022 will be just as stacked.
While we appreciated the multiple digital editions of Tomorrowland (including a special Lost Frequencies hour-long experience), we also feel that it’s time to return to Boom, Belgium and take in the sights and sounds.
It’s fitting that one of Europe’s most influential electronic music festivals is coming back in full force. Tomorrowland spokespeople guarantee that fans will be able enjoy a mix of “established values and new talent,” regardless of which weekend they attend.
