Illenium Apologizes For “Mistakenly” Playing Bassnectar Song Live – [Read]

Melodic music sensation, Illenium, recently came under fire for playing a tune produced by Bassnectar, during his set at Cancun’s Ember Shores.

The widely-praised electronic music producer apologized for his accident after claiming that it was his first time playing a DnB set, and was simply “winging it.” 

Last time we checked, DJs get paid handsomely in order to provide audiences with positive and memorable live experiences. Given how well everything must go during the set, preparation is the most important part of a show.

Rather than experiencing a traditional uplifting Illenium set, the audience was subjected to “Nice and Easy” by Bassnectar. 

The lyrics of the track go as follows: “We plant the seed and the bass is the nectar.” It’s safe to say that no one wanted to be reminded of the predatory artist, much less in this manner.

Reception of the incident was mostly negative. Twitter users chimed in to criticize Illenium for not being more proactive, while a few chimed in to defend him.
