NGHTMRE and Zeds Dead Get Shady With New Collaboration – [LISTEN]

NGHTMRE and Zeds Dead join forces for new single “Shady Intentions.”

Our favorite Canadian DJ duo Zeds Dead, comprised of Hooks and DC, has teamed up with NGHTMRE, also known as Tyler Marenyi, to drop a trippy and intense collaboration, a track titled “Shady Intentions.” The track features vocals from the talented Tori Levett, an international influencer and Sydney-based electronic music artist/vocalist. “Shady Intentions” is out today, November 26th, via Ultra Records. Bringing it back to basics, the single showcases the best of bass meets melodic dub.

The last time NGHTMRE and Zeds Dead got together for a collaboration was more than five years ago with their release “Frontlines.” The song amassed more than 33 million streams on Spotify alone, and thus, has since become one of Zeds Dead and NGHTMRE’s most successful and streamed tracks. For their half-decade reunion, Tori’s vocals add another dynamic to the music – there’s something so wrong yet so right about light and airy vocals coupled with aggressive, opposing bass.

The track starts off slow, with ethereal musings from Tori, but quickly crescendos with revolving synths and an amping of bass and percussion. The hook of the track is a simple bass refrain, with quick drops and sampled vocals. It’s a tantalizing ebb and flow of buildup and release, the basics of bass music with flawless execution.

Both NGHTMRE and Zeds Dead have been keeping busy, delivering new music and selling out shows, and in the case of Hooks, even opening an art gallery. Both Zeds Dead and NGHTMRE are known for delivering pulse-intensifying electronic tracks that never fail to inspire a rendezvous of two. NGHTMRE has collaborated with heavy hitters including Dillon Francis, Wiz Khalifa, and A$AP Ferg, while Zeds Dead has sold out areas such as Coachella, Lollapalooza, Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival, EDC Las Vegas and more.

In the wild, I'm most often spotted at immersive art spaces, step tappin' in a shadowed corner of the club, hater blockerz on, totally incognito as your resident EDM spice girl. Although I generally tout my spicy side, if there's one thing I'd love to impress upon the world, it would be this: it's not a waste to give love to those who do not deserve it – it's a gift. The world would be a better place if we gave, in kindness and in mercy, to those who need it most with no expectation in return.
