Chris Lake Taps Grimes As NPC For New Single “A Drug from God” – [Listen]
The excitement around the release has been building for quite a while now, and is finally out now on both Astralwerks & Black Book Records
Grimes recently expanded her music career and started an AI Girl Group called NPC. Teaming up with legendary house music producer Chris Lake the pair collaborated on the track together earlier this year in LA and have been driving fans wild with it at events across the States.
Chris Lake is a British DJ/Producer and is one of the largest artists in electronic music right now. He is now GRAMMY-nominated and known for his hits “Turn Off The Lights” and “Delirious”. He founded Black Book Records and utilizes the label to pursue his passion for supporting developing artists.
Chris Lake has performed at venues and festivals all over the world, most recently including Brooklyn Mirage, Echostage, and Decadence. He is currently on a US tour, concluding at the end of 2021.
Grimes is a Canadian musician whose unique electronic style combines elements of dream pop, hip hop, and R&B. She broke out in 2012 with her hit album Visions in which she wrote in a 2-week period. Grimes rose to mainstream prominence with her very public relationship alongside Elon Musk. They currently have a son X Æ A-X12 together but are separated.
Most recently she started the new NPC project which launched alongside the single. Anyone can join NPC and are voted in and out of the group, except for core members such as Grimes’ baby Warnymph.
