Louis Futon Shares Electrifying Sophomore LP ‘Couchsurfing’ – [Listen]

Genre-bending producer Louis Futon offers 18 unique tracks that explore funk, soul, hip-hop, and electronic music.

‘Couchsurfing’ is an allusion to Futon’s formative years, in particular, the year he spent couchsurfing across LA after leaving his hometown in Philly. Each day brought a new adventure, just as each song off the LP explores a different corner of his creative mind.

Futon’s sophomore album embellishes upon its predecessor, ‘Way Back When,’ by offering a colorful collection of tunes that tell more of his story. He’s departed from his anticipated dreamy feel to offer something more dynamic and representative of his full narrative.

“I’ve always felt like a creative nomad. It’s hard for me to commit to one style because I’m naturally enticed by so many different genres,” says Futon. “I wanted to lean into my creative spontaneity and create a project that not only covers the whole spectrum of sounds I like to make, but also feels connected.”

Louis Futon enlisted R&B singer Lavance Colley for his track “Turn It Up.” Other artists featured on the album include Armani White, Bad Snacks, Rob Araujo, and Quickly, Quickly.

Leading up to ‘Couchsurfing’, Futon has made a name for himself in the electronic space by remixing beloved artists like G-Eazy, Rufus Du Sol, ZHU, and Wiz Khalifa. He’s even graced the stages of some of the country’s top music festivals like Coachella, Ultra Music Festival, and Made In America.

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!
