Apple Recruits REZZ and Deathpact For Trippy New Macbook Ad – [Read]
Yesterday, Apple unveiled the upcoming MacBook Pro to a tune recognized by bassheads and ravers. REZZ and Deathpact’s “Chemical Bond,” served as the high-energy musical accompaniment to the visually-striking video.
The brief 38-second teaser examines the laptop’s wide array of features, and showcases the raw processing power of the new Macbook. Snippets of graphically-intensive tasks flash on the screen, as the bass growls and drum kicks.
Even though Apple is known for visually-striking ads, nothing could prepare audiences for the otherworldly assault of bass brought by REZZ and Deathpact.

It’s fitting that two of the most innovative electronic music artists feature on an Apple ad. What was once a tech startup run by college dropouts, is now a computer hardware behemoth valued at $2 trillion.
REZZ started producing in 2015, and less than a year later she already featured releases on the prestigious Mau5trap label spearheaded by progressive house legend, deadmau5.
While Deathpact‘s identity is unknown, their rapid rise to EDM stardom is recognized throughout the industry. Deathpact’s first release came in the form of a flash drive, which could only be obtained after following several alternate reality clues.
The clues were scattered in major cities through billboards, phone numbers and even QR codes. A flash drive called “Deathdrop One” awaited treasure hunters at the end of the journey in Los Angeles. The exclusive USB contained multiple unreleased singles, which eventually appeared on Deathpact’s Cipher One EP.
We’re not sure if Apple are ever going to top this, but we’re glad that two of EDM’s most unique acts get the widespread recognition they deserve.
