Anna Lunoe Recruits Genesis Owusu for Acid House Track, “Back Seat” – [Read]

Earlier this week, Anna Lunoe and Genesis Owusu flaunted their post-funk, acid house chops with their freshest release, “Back Seat.” The groovy three-and-a-half minute tune features nonchalant vocals and sparkling synthesizers.

Fresh from a recent album release, Genesis Owusu returns to command the dance floor with his singing contributions. Initially, the track gives off indie rap vibes. As the song progresses, Lunoe’s subdued production ramps up, following the introduction of sparkly synths and subtle atmospheric elements.

This collaboration is a match made in heaven. Owusu’s unique voice complements Lunoe’s dreamy instrumentation, fueled by a deep sub bass and crisp drums.

The track endured a lengthy journey leading up to its release. Lunoe recalls the track taking two years to finish. According to the producer, “Back Seat” is the product of working in “3 different houses, across 2 contents, and 4 studios.”

The silver lining of this anticipated release is that it also “unlocked a whole new layer” in Lunoe’s production capabilities. All in all, we’re thrilled “Back Seat” finally got the chance to dominate airwaves.

“Back Seat” also marks Lunoe’s second release on the NLV Records imprint, run by fellow hit-maker Nina Las Vegas. The two artists share a storied 15-year friendship, as well as a collab titled, “One Thirty.”

When Lunoe isn’t headlining stages or crafting the next dance floor anthem, she is curating her newest endeavor: the Create/Destroy podcast. This new project revolves around insightful conversations with other creatives. Create/Destroy already features episodes with Chris Lake and TT The Artist.
