Scasca Unveils New Lofi Single “Migrations”- [Listen]
The dreamy new track is the producer’s sophomore offering and is out today across streaming platforms
Scasca has been on hiatus since dropping his well-received debut track “Long Distance Call” a year ago. His newest release, “Migrations” is an ethereal and iridescent track, created to calm those who listen. As he continues to establish his signature sound, the burgeoning producer’s studio talent is evident across his first two releases.
Scasca creates a soothing atmosphere with his masterful production. His sounds are heavily inspired by nature and is intended to give a forest-like air about his tracks. “Migrations” is a melodic song that brings you inner peace. The melody creates an air of introspective nostalgia for the listener that’s rife with palable emotion.
Scasca hails from Saint Petersburg and his name means “fairytale” in Russian. The term perfectly describes Scasca’s atmospheric music. He is known for his leftfield music with lo-fi aesthetics. Drawing inspiration from artists as Bonobo, Four Tet, Burial and Catching Flies, his UK downtempo tunes feature delicate vocal samples and carefully crafted sonic landscapes.
Scasca commented on the track, “Migrations” is my second single. If “Long Distance Call” was a kind of lo-fi deconstruction of future garage music, “Migrations” is a step towards breakbeat-influenced downtempo, which evokes associations with Bonobo or Catching Flies. As with the debut, I paid a lot of attention to textures and noises here, whether it’s glowing chimes, the rustling of leaves, or voice messages that sound through the sea waves. The main element of this track is the blurry wordless vocals – It reminds me of the feeling from my childhood, when the short northern summer ends, I watch the migratory birds fly south and stay for the winter.”
