Astralwerks and Blue Note Drops Lo-Fi Electronic Jazz Compilation with Bluewerks Vol 4: Drifting Off – [Listen]

Astralwerks and Blue Note Records join forces to deliver their 4th installment of Lo-fi electronic jazz music titled Bluewerks Vol. 4: Drift Off.

When we think of electronic music, we often associated the sounds with being loud and upbeat. When we think of cross-genre collaborations, we mainly consider electronic pop or electronic rock crossovers. However, we rarely think about the soft side of EDM and how it can it has the ability to mix with low-key genres.

Astralwerks was an idea born from Caroline Records seizing an opportunity for a label focused on the nascent electronic and ambient scene. Today, Astralwerks has emerged as a modern, artist-first label and the #1 market share leader for dance/electronic music in the U.S.

While Blue Note Records is the most respected and longest running Jazz label home of cutting-edge jazz innovators while broadening its horizons to include quality music in many genres. Thanks to the artists from Astralwerks and Blue Note Records came Lo-fi electronic jazz fusion. 

The labels have joined forces for a fourth time to release released another collaborative Lo-Fi series where downtempo electronica intersects with jazz-infused sounds. Bluewerks Vol. 4: Drift Off is a beautiful collection of 8 tracks that matches the calming change from summer to fall. It’s calming and serene nature is the perfect vibe to bring the autumn months into focus as we move towards closing out the year.

The compilation EP presents some of Lo-fi’s greatest artists like Wun Two, Flughand, Ymori, Scayos, Mark Raggio and TV Culture. Included with all the tracks are colorful and cozy aesthetic visualizers that can all be found on Youtube.

Are you digging the Lo-fi electronic vibe? Fun fact: All editions of Bluewerks have been released this year in 2021. Who knows? The year is not over yet and perhaps a Bluewerks winter edition is to come in the near future.
