Cray Embraces the Best Parts of Herself with New Autism Diagnosis – [Read]

Female EDM artist Cray shares her new diagnosis with fans and breaks down stigmas around being autistic.

Our differences as people make us who we uniquely are as individuals. Embracing those differences is not always easy but is the very root of self-love.

The multi-talented artist/DJ/producer, Cray opened up to her fans on Instagram to share her recent autism diagnosis at 28 years old. In a transparent post, Cray shared her experience with being diagnosed with ADHD and audio processing disorder as a child and the bullying that came with being different.

 

Even ten years down the line Cray admits she was still struggling with her daily life as an adult and decided it was time to face it head on. With the help of her mom Cray found a neuropsychologist and was finally granted answers she’d been looking for her entire life.

To be autistic is not to be shameful, and Cray proudly shares that the best parts of herself is from her autism. Breaking the stigma that autistic people are broken or need to be ‘fixed’, Cray embraces this newly found discovery to be a relief.

Using her platform she is opening her door to create a safe space to connect with others that may be going through the same experiences. Letting people know that autism isn’t an obstacle, it is a part of who you are. We need more people like Cray to show us that being different is cool.
