Porter Robinson Announces Live Side-Project for Second Sky, Air to Earth – [Read]

A mere week away from the third edition of his widely renowned Second Sky Festival, Porter Robinson announced another side-project: Air to Earth (a.k.a Air2Earth).

The artist will kick off both days of the fest, welcoming concert-goers with sample-driven progressive house and disco. Porter says that Air to Earth is inspired by the feeling of walking into a music festival, and the sheer excitement he experiences.

In addition to setting the tone for the rest of the day, the artist decided to play the opening sets so that even the earlier artists would gather larger crowds to enjoy their performances. This decision further cements Porter Robinson as one of the most innovative and positive forces in the electronic music community.

Since the festival’s inception in 2019, it has only been hosted live once. The inaugural edition featured iconic acts including: G Jones, Madeon, and Skrillex (as the surprise guest).

In similar fashion, Second Sky 2021 is packed with a variety of groundbreaking acts. Madeon makes his return, accompanied by newcomers: Wavedash, Jacob Collier, and Jai Wolf. Fans can expect to hear cutting edge music from multiple genres.

Porter Robinson is no stranger to new aliases, and we’re sure that the Second Sky crowds won’t be the only ones to hear Air to Earth live. If past releases and shows are any indication, the artist might tour the side-project.

We can only anxiously wait for the debut of Air to Earth next weekend. We expect a feeling similar to that of Porter unveiling his Virtual Self project to the world — unbridled excitement. In the meantime we’ll listen to Nurture on repeat, while remaining hopeful for another Virtual Self EP and tour.
