Porter Robinson Teams With Harry Potter World Designers for Second Sky Installations – [Read]

The beautifully creative mind that is Porter Robinson and his team have something very special cooking for Second Sky Festival.

Porter Robinson‘s Second Sky Festival is returning for it’s second iteration on September 18-19, 2021 in Oakland, CA. The festival is being produced by Goldenvoice, the legendary production company that puts on the esteemed Coachella festival. In addition to top of the line production and artist curation, Porter has a surprise up his sleeve for Second Sky attendees. 

Robinson and his team have enlisted the artistry of Nassal, the company that curated the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios in Orlando, Japan, and Hollywood. Nassal will create and deliver immersive, tastemaker art installations for the Second Sky Festival. Nassal has created a multitude of award winning theme park instillations, zoo exhibits, and many more beautifully immersive experiences that will surely blow Second Sky attendee’s minds. 

If you’re a fan of Porter‘s, you know that the intimate world of his music and content is one of the most immersive and inclusive in the entire industry. He is a master musician, event curator, talent, and a stand-up person. The original dates for Second Sky were cancelled due to COVID-19, but Porter would not rest at just holding the event the following year. 

Porter and his team curated a beautifully encapsulating, immersive virtual festival called Secret Sky, with two iterations over the bulk of the pandemic. The virtual festival featured sets from Baauer, Boys Noize, Rezz, Waveracer, Porter Robinson, and many more cohesive performances handpicked by Porter himself. The festival was not just a livestream however, the virtual iteration allowed viewers to be placed inside a dreamy landscape, run around as a cute little avatar, watch the sets from different vantage points in the “venue”, and interact with other festivalgoers. Truly groundbreaking stuff from Porter and his team, and Second Sky will be no different. 

Fans will really be in for a treat at the carefully crafted and curated experience that will be Second Sky Festival. With grandiose, immersive installations from Nassal, a star-studded lineup including a jaw-dropping addition in Jacob Collier, and a chance to see Porter‘s newest album Nurture live before anyone else.
