REZZ Snatches Souls in Newest Collaboration With Deathpact “Chemical Bond” – [Listen]
Everyone’s favorite midtempo bass queen, REZZ, just dropped an ominous, bass-heavy tune with deathpact titled, “chemical bond.” The hard-hitting release clocks in at just under two-and-a-half minutes.
The 30-second teaser from earlier this week reminds us why these two artists are powerhouses in their respective scenes. In 2017, REZZ wowed audiences with her debut album, Mass Manipulation. As the title implies, REZZ’s release put the midtempo scene in a trance.
Similarly, deathpact is a bit of an enigma in the heavy bass scene. For starters, they released their debut single in 2018, and have since played Shambhala Music Festival and collaborated with Zeds Dead and 1788-L. While the producer’s identity is unknown, their music is instantly recognizable and unique.
“chemical bond” marks the third time deathpact and REZZ work together on a track. The artists’ first outing, “Life & Death” featured on REZZ’s highly-acclaimed sophomore album, Certain Kind of Magic, via mau5trap. While their sophomore effort, “Kiss of Death,” shone on REZZ’s Beyond the Senses EP.
“Life & Death” encompasses both producers’ distinct styles in a cohesive and tasteful manner. The tune includes REZZ’s signature wobbles, as well as deathpact’s frantic glitch bass.
deathpact’s meteoric rise seems to mirror that of REZZ. Both artists’ ideas stand apart from the rest, in a genre dominated by very specific sounds and textures.
We’re sure that this latest release will reinvigorate the midtempo scene. It’s no surprise REZZ accrued so many fans in record time, and why deathpact’s listener base is also growing exponentially.
