For a second time, BUKU Festival is cancelled due to the rising uncertainty of COVID-19 and will return March 2022.

Unfortunately, the light at the end of the tunnel for some festivals isn’t so near with the rise of recent COVID-19 cases. Due to the worsening conditions in Louisiana, it has forced Buku Festival to cancel for a second time.

At the beginning of summer, the BUKU Music + Art Project announced a unique event called Planet B to take the place of its first cancellation due to COVID back in March 2020. BUKU: Planet B event organizers released a statement this week addressing the inability to safely hold the festival given the current conditions of COVID-19 in Louisiana.

“As you’ve probably seen, Louisiana is getting rocked by COVID again and it’s causing large events in the state to cancel,” the statement reads. “We’ve spent the last couple weeks trying to hang on, but don’t see a guaranteed path forward under the current & projected public health conditions.”

Ticketholders will be receiving emails for refunds and will be able to roll over their tickets to next year. BUKU Festival 2022 will happen on March 25-26th with a new lineup in the works.
