Up & Coming Artist Ben E. Davis Releases New Nostalgic Single “Lonely Without You” – [Listen]
The new track “Lonely Without You” by Ben E. Davis was released today on August 20th and confronts his feelings of loneliness. The track comes from the heart, created while Davis was going through a breakup during the pandemic and unable to be with family.
Ben E. Davis is a London-based American ex-pat whose music bridges both the cultural and oceanic gap. His passion for music started at the young age of 16. Since then, he has worked on a plethora of projects, including touring with a band that opened up for Katy Perry, as well as recording music featured in films such as Step Up. With seasoned experience already under his belt, Davis is now ready to pursue his solo career in EDM.
“Lonely Without You” is the second single coming from Davis this year. It follows his previous release, “One More Day”, which was used as the theme for the Nintendo Switch game, “The Seven Chambers.”
The track was written by Ben and producer R0 Bradley, and mixed by Grammy nominated mixing engineer Ariel Chobaz. It is a rhythmically upbeat song about the vulnerability of breaking up and the painful emotions of missing a significant other.
“Lonely Without You” features Ben’s honest melodies and emotional writing on top of an infectious, summer beat. The music video features beautiful scenery in Portugal and New York City.
Ben shares his thoughts on the track, “‘Lonely Without You’ was originally a song I wrote while I was going through a hard break up. It later took on a deeper meaning as I have really missed my family and friends during the pandemic (especially being separated by an ocean from them). It’s through experiencing “loneliness” or the pain of hurting others that we can change and become better people. Although it can be tough to experience pain, it’s that process of healing that makes us stronger. I hope this song helps anyone going through emotional pain and suffering – whether it’s a breakup or the loss of a loved one.”
