Lucii Promises To Do A Mac Miller Tribute At Every Set This Year – [Read]

As it approaches the three-year anniversary since Mac’s death, Wakaan mainstay Lucii shares her plans to pay homage to the late rapper through her own music.

Lucii shared a short clip to Twitter as a tribute to Mac Miller, with his track “Good News” playing in the background of a photo montage. She’s expressed her appreciation for Mac in the past but has decided to incorporate his work into her performances now as a token of her gratitude for his contribution to her life and the music community.

The artist debuted the tribute at Das Energi Festival in Salt Lake City this past weekend. An attendee shared a video of her playing out his track “Weekend” and it’s clear fans were enjoying it too.

The crowd is pictured vibing out in the midst of the purple haze. Lucii’s beautiful tribute is more than just a way for her to celebrate Mac’s life, but a way for his fans to come together to remember him.

This wouldn’t be the first time Lucii incorporated a Mac Miller tribute into her set. She’s been seen playing out his tunes at various festivals, and thanked him publicly for the impact his music has made on her life.

Lucii has recently embarked on her Metamorphosis tour, which is an immersive experience with live vocals and time coded visuals. As she gears up to play major festivals like Bonnaroo, North Coast, Nocturnal Wonderland, Beyond Wonderland, Lost Lands, and more, fans can look forward to catching her Mac Miller tribute at every stop.

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!

What's your reaction?
