The Martinez Brothers and Fuego Link Up On New Single “P.A.P” – [Listen]

Latinx artists collaborate to deliver house sensation

The Martinez Brothers, monolithic leaders in the space of house and techno, teamed up with Dominican-American talent Fuego, who originally heralds from Washington, on a new drop titled “P.A.P.” The track was released late last week via Everybody Knows, a boutique record label focused on electronic music and artistic exploration.

“P.A.P.” is spicy, yet cool, calm, and collected. It features slick Spanish vocals such as, “No quiero que se nos acabe la noche porque no quiero que salga el sol,” which loosely translates to “I don’t want the night to end because I don’t want the sun to rise.” Overall, the single sounds a little like reggaeton, but not quite – it would be better described as a hybrid genre of Latin trap. The beat slaps, the lyrics are thoughtful, poetic, and swuave, yet the structure of the single mimics the circulative nature of classic house.

The Martinez Brothers have certainly emerged from their quarantine hiatus with a slew of tour stops in their 2021 que. The hit list includes Chicago’s ARC Music Festival on September 3rd, Miami’s legendary nightclub Story later in the night/day on September 3rd, Zouk in Las Vegas on September 5th, Warehouse Project on October 2nd, and Circoloco x Loveland at ADE on October 16th to name a few pitstops. The brothers are excited to get back to doing what they do best – vibing with all those that love music.

Fuego, who has collaborated and performed with the likes of J Balvin, Juanes, Anitta, Dillon Francis, Rick Ross and Pitbull among many others, mainly drops tracks in the Latin trap genre, however, this most recent release with The Martinez Brothers showcases his versatility and adaptability. He’s had quite the year in 2021, after his 2011 single “Una Vaina Loca” went viral on Tik Tok, and then on both Spotify and YouTube, amassing millions of views daily.

Heralding from sunny South Florida, I am a proud Florida Woman. In my free time, I surf the swamp, wrangle gators, open fan mail, and tend to my pets. In the wild, I'm most often spotted at immersive art spaces, step tappin' in a shadowed corner of the club, hater blockerz on, totally incognito as your resident EDM spice girl. Although I generally tout my spicy side, if there's one thing I'd love to impress upon the world, it would be this: it's not a waste to give love to those who do not deserve it – it's a gift. The world would be a better place if we gave, in kindness and in mercy, to those who need it most with no expectation in return.
