Claude VonStroke and Walker & Royce Debut Tantalizing Collab – [LISTEN]
DJ DUO CRUSHES EP RELEASE
A little more than half a decade ago, Claude VonStroke, legendary house DJ extraordinaire, signed the duo Walker & Royce to DIRTYBIRD, one of the most infamous and well-known underground record labels in the music industry. Walker & Royce, who have been slowly and steadily building themselves as DJs and artists, have spent almost the entirety of their years at DIRTYBIRD without a collaboration with Claude, however, that is true no more.
The long-awaited collab is an EP titled “Enthusiasm,” a small compilation complete with two tracks – the title track “Enthusiasm” and then “The End Of The Lime.” The EP is weird and funky in all the quirky ways that scream Claude VonStroke, with an extra little pizazz from Walker & Royce. It’s a pinch of Burning Man, a little bit of outer space, and a dash of some sort of ethereal twilight jungle, an outlandish rave and unbridled adventure.
During 2020’s hiatus, a time absent of club DJing, Claude VonStroke and Walker & Royce continued to engage fans via their Twitch channels, DIRTYBIRD TV, and It’s Good TV. All three of the artists kept patrons tapping their toes with remote DJ sets, proliferating DIRTYBIRD vibes all while within the comfort and safety of abodes. Claude’s “Oh” EP, which was released earlier this year in June, and his viral pandemic hit “I’m Solo” were standouts during the epoch of plague, as well as Walker & Royce’s “Need2Freek.” The media and music releases kept fans engaged while also showcasing multifarious sides to their music. With a little help from “Enthusiasm,” these music producers bloom in this post-peak heat wave and resurgence.
