NGHTMRE Reinvents Himself With Genre-Bending Single “Scars” – [Read]
Today, LA-based electronic artist, NGHTMRE, released a vibrant trap single that blurs the lines between genres. The new, multilayered track features dreamy guitar plucks and Young Pinch’s passionate vocals.
“Scars” is an anthem to unconditional love and the wonderful feeling associated with it. The three-minute tune utilizes atmospheric chords and saxophone-like vocal chops. Additionally, the song features a speaker-thumping sub bass layer, resulting in a hip-hop-influenced sound.
This release marks the artist’s second on Ultra Music in just under two months. Given the nature of NGHTMRE’s recent discography, the artist is experimenting less with bass and more with melodic elements.
With respect to the new track, NGHTMRE said the following, “I’ve been making a good bit of hip hop recently but nothing too melodic! I was excited to try my hand in some cool melodic hip hop vibes.”
Exploring new styles and genres to tackle is no new feat for the seasoned producer. One of his greatest assets includes his diverse arsenal of sounds. Other accolades include collaborations with Dillon Francis, SLANDER and Zeds Dead.
When NGHTMRE isn’t making the next banger, he’s touring across the U.S. or Europe. The artist’s largest headlining tour to date, “The Portal Tour,” tackled 49 shows in premier locations like New York and Los Angeles.
With shows coming back in full force, so does the NGHTMRE hype train. His latest live endeavor features select tour stops at the Exchange LA, North Coast Music Festival 2021 and Red Rocks Amphitetheater.
