Rumors have been flowing nonstop over the course of the past few years regarding the legendary dance music trio Swedish House Mafia. After their reunion performance at Ultra Music Festival in 2018, it was unclear what the next move would be from the supergroup. Now finally, after nearly of decade of no new music releases, a Spotify billboard in Times Square confirms a release date for new music. The simple yet exciting billboard shows the iconic three white dots with the date 7.15.21.
Most recently, the trio parted ways with Columbia Records and signed with The Weeknd’s manager Sal Slaiby. Many fans across the globe speculated if this shift would mean new music was on the way. Igniting an absolute fire in the realm of dance music, Swedish House Mafia is finally ready to make their grand return to their dance music throne.
Although the trio has had somewhat of tumulutous journey, their lasting impression on the dance music community will forever live on. Although powerful as individuals, Axwell, Steve Angello, and Sebastian Ingrosso shaped dance music into what it is today with their legendary collaborative discography.
Their one and only album, ‘Until Now’, is arguably just as relevant today as it was almost a decade ago. Tracks like “Don’t You Worry Child”, “Save The World”, and “Calling” with Alesso still remain on setlists around the globe.
