This past 4th of July weekend went off with a bang, but there were no fireworks show for the attendees of Insomniac’s Day Trip LA Festival. Due to some unforeseen circumstances the CEO of Insomniac, Pasquale Rotella, was forced to relocate Day Trip LA to the NOS Center in San Bernardino over 50 miles away.

In an Instagram video Rotella shared some insight from behind the scenes and offered up some great surprises to help inconveniences of the festival goers. All ticket holders were issued a full refund and given a free admission pass to any 2021 Insomniac festival not already sold out. Additionally, Insomniac is offering to reimburse any non-refundable flights and hotel fare.

As Rotella solemnly apologizes for the big event planning mess, he did promise an amazing show with multiple stages, indoor grass, a drone show, art installations and most important of all a stacked house line up with spectacular artists. Through Insomniac’s diligent work the show went on and was still a blast for everyone.

With the festival mix up also came a mix of amazing B2B sets. The highlight of the day had to come from squad Sofi Tukker, Vintage Culture, and John Summit keeping spirits up and the vibes groovy.

Though once the night fell, Tchami and Wax Motif (who wasn’t even originally in the lineup) delivered one hell of a party playing the closing set. Real ravers will do anything for the music even if it means rearranging your plans and though there were a few bumps along the way, Day Trip LA was a success thanks to the hard working team at Insomniac.

My introduction to the scene was first influenced by trap music, but my discography has since expanded to touch a bit of everything. Some of my favorite artists are Zeds Dead, Cloonee, Nghtmre, Flume, Infekt, Sosa, Bleu Clair, Subtronics, but the list goes on forever.
