i_o’S FAMILY REVEALS CAUSE OF DEATH IN HEARTFELT MESSAGE – [READ]
A Los Angeles coroner’s report reveals Garrett Lockhart, better known as i_o, passed from an ongoing condition called Hashimoto’s thyroiditis.
It has been nearly six months since the electronic music community lost techno legend i_o. His music touched so many and knowing him was to know a beautiful soul. With so much speculation as to how he passed, friends and fans have received closure today in a heartfelt message from his family.
In a medical examiner-coroner’s report from the Los Angeles county department revealed that Garrett Lockhart passed away from natural causes in his home. Lockhart had a thyroid condition called Hashimoto’s thyroiditis which is an autoimmune disorder causing chronic inflammation of the thyroid gland.
In an official statement shared by the Lockhart family they explain he “had a sudden and fatal arrythmia.” The speculation was further clarified to note that, “No toxins were found on extensive and repeated tests. After 5 months of testing, the conclusion is that, while Garrett did suffer from depression and anxiety, he did not take his own life.”
With the passing of Lockhart’s birthday just days ago, the EDM community reaches out to pay respect and tributes to their lost friend. i_o we hope that you are at peace at your castle in the sky.
