PORTER ROBINSON SHARES PLAN TO PROPOSE TO GIRLFRIEND RIKA – [READ]

Porter Robinson is ready to hear wedding bells after the pandemic with long term girlfriend Rika in a behind-the-scenes look into his latest album release, Nurture.

Porter Robinson’s highly awaited album Nurture has just released after seven years in the making. This is his second album to date following his first LP called Worlds.

May be an image of grass

The album is nothing short of ethereal, touching, and a personal journey of growth in the eyes of Porter himself. After his first album release Porter felt a lot of pressure in creating a sequel that would live up to his fans’ expectation.

So entrenched in his work, he was lost in the process of creativity and hit an even bigger wall when his younger brother Mark was diagnosed with cancer. Though his life took a turn when meeting his current girlfriend Rika in 2017.

In a Billboard interview Porter notes that he started to prioritize his own well-being over his music once he was dating Rika thus inspiring the album title Nurture. He explains, “One of the themes on this album is meeting someone you love so deeply that you become afraid to die for the first time in your life. It’s so clear to me that I can’t die at the altar of art here. I don’t find burning out extravagantly and dying in my 30s to be a romantic idea anymore.”

The track, “Sweet Time” is dedicated to his 4-year relationship with Rika. In a behind-the-scenes look into the individual track meanings Porter drops a bomb when telling us that it’s time for him to propose. The only thing stopping him is that he didn’t want to during the pandemic.

Who knows how long before Porter can stage his perfect proposal, but we’ll all be patiently for big news to come. Until then stream the full Nurture album below.
