SECOND SKY FESTIVAL BREAKS A YEAR OF SILENCE ON TWITTER – [READ]

After almost an entire year of no social media activity, Second Sky Festival has made a concise but powerful post to Twitter.

Just hours ago, @secondskyfest tweeted, “Hello Again!” causing many fans to speculate more to come. Since its 2020 edition, Secret Sky Festival went virtual due to COVID-19, it’s been hard to imagine where the young festival’s future lies.

Secret Sky Festival debuted nearly two years ago in Oakland, California, and has yet to return. Curated by Porter Robinson himself, the festival spanned across two days and featured headliners from various genres, including G Jones, Cashmere Cat, and Porter’s long-time friend Madeon. Porter’s Virtual Self alias rightfully made an appearance as well.

One of the most spectacular moments from the 2019 edition is when Porter revealed Skrillex as the surprise guest. Disguised as DJ Potaro, Skrillex removed his costume and gave the crowd an unforgettable set, a defining moment for the entire festival.

Although it’s just a tweet with no context, it’s reasonable to believe a critical festival announcement is coming soon. As vaccines are continuing to roll out and festival lineups drop, this theory doesn’t seem unlikely.

In addition to (hopefully) organizing a festival, Porter Robinson is on the verge of releasing his highly anticipated, full-length album, ‘Nurture’. The album is set for official release on April 23, 2021, and will include a fusion of brand new tracks and ones we’ve already got the pleasure of hearing, such as “Look at the Sky”.

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!

What's your reaction?
