JEFFREY SUTORIUS LOSES LEGAL BATTLE FOR ‘DASH BERLIN’ TRADEMARK – [READ]
AFTER YEARS OF LEGAL TRADEMARK BATTLES, FOR THE ‘DASH BERLIN’ NAME, JEFFREY SUTORIUS LOSES THE DISPUTE AND MUST REFRAIN FROM USING THE GOUP’S NAME.
On March 29, Dash Berlin posted a personal message from Sutorius discussing the legal battle he’s faced to keep the trademarked name ‘Dash Berlin’ that was transferred to his former group-mates. Sutorius said that this decision felt unfair to him.

The iconic Dutch EDM trio, Dash Berlin, made up of the frontman and DJ Jeffrey Sutorius and two producers, Vanderkleij Agency and Sebastiaan Molijn had their breakthrough in the EDM community in 2007 with the release of Till The Sky Falls Down. In 2009, their songs Waiting and Man On The Run were both nominated as two of the best trance tracks that year. After this, the trio performed at music festivals and concerts around the world.
After the cancellation of multiple shows in 2018, Jeffrey Sutorius released a press statement explaining that because of mismanagement and neglect of his interests, he was leaving the group. However, since the two producing members owned the rights to the name ‘Dash Berlin’ without including Sutorius, he legally was unable to perform under that name.
Determined to not let this split end his career, Sutorius released his first debut single under his own name in November of 2018, Bad Days, with vocals by Jake Reese, which did not stray far from Dash Berlin’s EDM style. In 2019, he came out with four singles, Nothing Hurts Like Love with Jonathon Mendelsohn, Middle Of The Night featuring Matluck, Komrad with Alexander Popov and Noctornual Interlude with Tomas Heredia. Each single is a trance favorite at festivals and by his fans.
Even though he lost the legal battle for the trademarked name, Jeffrey Sutorius said he will continue performing under his real name, which is something no one can take away from him. And we cannot wait to see what he does next.
