1788-L RESURRECTS WITH INNOVATIVE “PARALLEL:S” EP ON DEADBEATS – [LISTEN]
Enigmatic bass music talent, 1788-L, returned to the Deadbeats imprint with his first release in two years — “Parallel:S.” The two-track EP marks an evolution in the artist’s production, and a departure from his android-textured sound design.
The release is on the shorter end, clocking in at a length of 7-and-a-half minutes. Do not be mistaken though, the two singles are “all killer and no filler.” The first of the two songs, “Human Machine,” is an exciting tune characterized by reverberating synthesizers and metallic bass. Meanwhile, “Automaton” is a funky, upbeat house song reminiscent of groove-driven styles pioneered by Daft Punk.
“Parallel: S” is now available on all streaming platforms.

Even though 1788-L’s identity is unknown to most, his distinct sound propelled him to the forefront of experimental dance music. The producer’s haywire instrumentation is instantly recognizable and shines through, especially in collaborations. 1788-L has created music with other trailblazing artists including: Rezz, The Glitch Mob and Illenium.
The artist’s production chops were recognized early on when he “flipped” Virtual Self‘s “Particle Arts” in 2018. His dissonant bass complemented the serene vocals and uplifting melodies of the original tune. There is a lot of beauty to be found in the chaos of a 1788-L track.

The mysterious producer’s highly-anticipated return comes at the perfect time, given the gradual return of festivals and shows. 1788-L was recently booked for HARD Summer 2021, where he will debut a brand-new live show on August 1st. He’s no stranger to major fests, having played Electric Zoo and Lost Lands.
It’s not often that we see an artist reinvent themselves successfully, which makes the artist’s new direction that much more exciting. Keep your eye out for 1788-L, they’ll be dominating the charts again this year.
