CHRIS LAKE RELEASES FIRST CHAPTER OF BLACK BOOK ID’S – [LISTEN]

Chris Lake releases the first installation of the Black Book ID’s mixtapes with four new dance floor anthems.

Grammy nominated producer Chris Lake just released the first chapter in a series of mixtapes from Black Book Records. This exciting new series is about digging deeper into unreleased music from well known house artists and introducing beats from new artists entering the game. “With Black Book ID’s, we’re aiming to give fans a sense of discovery, with exclusive, previously unreleased recordings from artists they love and songs from new artists that we’re excited about.”

To kick off Black Book ID’s Chapter 1 is an incredible collaboration with Riva Starr and lau.ra on “Beat Freak”. From East London, Riva Starr has released a string of critically acclaimed albums beginning with 2010’s, If Life Gives You Lemons, Make Lemonade. lau.ra is the new solo project from the UK-based producer and singer Laura Bettinson who co-wrote and featured her vocals “Beat Freak”.

This track all started when Riva Starr contacted Chris Lake through WhatsApp to share an idea for a song. Chris shares, “We’ve known each other for many years, but it felt like the right time to do something together and ‘Beat Freak’ is the result.”

Chapter 1 also features three other tracks including a hypnotizing house song, “Trippin’” by Dubesque, a beautiful mesh of house and vocals in “Snake Charmer” by Fourword, and a moody NightFunk Remix to Nicky Night Time’s “Like I Don’t Exist”. The Black Book ID’s is a special series that allows for the discovery of newer artists and if the rest of the chapters are anything like the first, we are definitely in for a treat.

An Atlanta gal chasing her love for electronic dance music. I’ve been with Exron since 2018 and have the privilege of contributing to the culture alongside other badass women whom I now call my friends. My introduction to the scene was first influenced by trap music, but my discography has since expanded to touch a bit of everything. Some of my favorite artists are Zeds Dead, Cloonee, Nghtmre, Flume, Infekt, Sosa, Bleu Clair, Subtronics, but the list goes on forever.
